You've been coming to our drop-in, maybe even taken our Play the Game class, and you want to learn more, huh?

That's great! In this supportive class, you'll focus on Character, Relationship, and Status - the building blocks to every compelling improv scene.

This class will teach you how to develop unique characters and relationships that are grounded in reality - on the spot! 

Take your skills to the next level, and work with expert instructor Mat Gagne, a veteran teacher and improviser from Boston with over 20 years of experience.

Also, you'll have the opportunity to explore principles of long-form improv. This is one fun, exciting class you won't want to miss!

About the Instructor

Mathieu Gagne has been performing, directing, and teaching improvisation for over 20 years. His improvising performing career began with Boston College's My Mother's Fleabag, and continued with critically acclaimed casts at ImprovBoston, including Misunderstood (A Rock Opera), several Gorefests (scripted musicals) and Musical Improv Company. 

Mat has been on the Board of Directors at ImprovBoston for many years, and is recognized across the country for his command of musical improvisation and characterization. Mat was a castmate of Amy Poehler at My Mother's Fleabag and studied with key members of The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Second City, and Improv Olympic.

Mat recently relocated from Boston to Vermont, and is excited to share his knowledge of improv comedy with students at Spark Arts.
